biodiversity residing in Aegilops species via Marker Assisted wide
c. Conserved stress tolerance of Aegilops species in commercial wheat varieties
and produced low input and stress tolerant wheat germplasm,
d. Produced water deficiency tolerant Basmati rice germplasm.
e. Established Bacterial Diversity Collection Center (BDCS) at NIAB which is maintaining numerous industrially and agriculturally important bacteria

For the first time in the world
i. Established salt tolerance in Aegilops species: On this achievement, I was given “Award for Excellence in Research to increase Agricultural Productivity in Pakistan” jointly by PARC and UN-NAS in 1994
ii. Established salt tolerance in wild rice species
iii. Established crosses between Porteresia coaractata and Oryza sativa which was a break-through in improving rice for salt tolerance
iv. Produced “DURUGEN” a new genotypes of wheat about 6000 years after the discovery of present day bread wheat. On the production of this genotype, I was decorated with President award for Pride of Performance in 2008
