‘Life’
Bakhtiar Hakeem
The sentence “I was born Dec 1950, and am still living” caught my eyes; this information seized and herald the experience of seven decades. I have no doubt that being mentioned as part of a book, the experience has to be thoughtful. Although as per the index the book has been sub divided however considering its objectives of sharing, socio-philosophical development and vision spread all over the division can be ignored to maintain the rhythm. Author has designed an excellent Life Compass for cover page. Writing a bilingual is a difficult proposition however keeping in view the concept of causing awareness, author has not ignored the vernacular readers. I was wondering so as to why word 'You' has been mentioned on cover page, later I realised that as author wants to address his readers hence he has drawn attention this way. It appeared to be an uphill task to read 380 pages, however multifaceted yet focused write up was captivating. Lucidity of thoughts and pattern of language not only kept me involved but also refrained to take it as a serious research.
Author has presented an impressive social insight by explaining the practical philosophy of symbolic social characters like SHO, Imam Masjid, Ministers and Target Killers. Expressing about menace of caste system, author has interestingly highlighted a question that why Chattahs and Cheemas has not done anything for Gujjars. Col Bakhtiar Hakeem has drawn attention towards a national predicamental paradox of “I could have done better in western countries” in a pragmatic manner. Articles about Traditional or Conventional thinking and Mistake Award Scheme should have been put together as initiative remains a corner stone for both. Articles about Traditional or Conventional thinking and Mistake Award Scheme should have been put together as initiative remains a corner stone for both. Identifying and stressing upon the concept of give and take in the form of 'Y Junction' is quite captivating. It was interesting to read the concept of unlearning; which revolves around finding an alternative. Author has mastery in selection of interesting and appealing titles for serious concepts; “Children's Parents Parent's Children”, “One Nation Two Countries” and “Small People” are prudent examples. vision about foreign policy. Author has prudently enlightened the readers about global happenings regarding Kashmir, Russian Culture, and emerging Pakistan Russia ties and Geopolitics of Indo-Pacific Region. Author has provided an excellent questionnaire comprising of 15 questions to ascertain what we actually do. It was thoughtful to read about Islam & National Interests. The request which author has made to Talibans to teach the world is solicitous, pragmatic and interesting. The world must know that the best munitions to win a war are cause and dedication. It was nice to read about memories of the author about Rocket Artillery. Starting from the right side, author has stressed upon religio-social concept and the most prudent articles are “Yeh Hum Hain”, “Rishtay” and “Zinda”. The principal and the most benefitting argument was “What I Gave to Pakistan” (How much useful or benevolent are you for His creation). The author has produced a master piece which will serve as a kindle for the social development. The author has produced a master piece which will serve as a kindle for the social development. I pray highest abode in heavens for Mrs. Aneesa Bakhtiar.
